Twenty years ago, the Bugatti Veyron fundamentally changed the automotive world. With 1,001 horsepower, a top speed exceeding 400 km/h, and unprecedented refinement, it established an entirely new vehicle category: the modern hypercar. The Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage revisits this milestone, honoring both the Veyron itself and the visionary engineer behind it, Professor Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch.
The Origin of the W16 Vision
The story of the Veyron began far from Molsheim, aboard a high-speed train in Japan, where Ferdinand K. Piëch sketched the concept of a revolutionary W-engine architecture. Building on Volkswagen’s earlier VR and W engines, the W16 became the technical heart of Bugatti’s renaissance. Compact, immensely powerful, and combined with all-wheel drive, it enabled performance figures previously considered unattainable in a road car.

Engineering at Its Absolute Peak
The F.K.P. Hommage is based on the most advanced evolution of Bugatti’s W16 platform. Its quad-turbocharged engine delivers 1,600 horsepower, derived from the same specification used in the Chiron Super Sport. Enhanced turbochargers, improved cooling systems, and a reinforced transmission ensure the drivetrain can handle the immense power and torque while maintaining long-distance usability.
Design Evolution with Respect for the Original
Visually, the F.K.P. Hommage remains unmistakably Veyron in its proportions, yet every surface has been carefully refined. The iconic horseshoe grille is now sculpted from a single block of aluminum, integrating more organically into the bodywork. Larger front air intakes support the increased performance, while updated wheel sizes—20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear—enhance both balance and stance.
Advanced paint technology plays a central role in the exterior presentation. A silver base layer beneath a red-tinted clear coat creates remarkable depth, while exposed black-tinted carbon fiber replaces traditional black paint, adding both visual and technical sophistication.
A Radical Interior Reinterpretation
The interior marks a major departure from previous W16 models. A Bauhaus-inspired round steering wheel recalls the original Veyron, paired with a fully bespoke center console and transmission tunnel milled from solid aluminum. Exclusive Paris-woven fabrics, part of Bugatti’s “Car Couture” concept, represent a new level of interior craftsmanship introduced with the Tourbillon.
Mechanical Art Integrated into the Cabin
At the pinnacle of personalization, the center console can house a specially commissioned 41 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon. Mechanically powered by the vehicle itself—without electrical connection—the timepiece rotates on a diagonal axis and reflects both the customer’s individuality and Bugatti’s engineering philosophy.
Programme Solitaire: Ultimate Individualization
The F.K.P. Hommage is the second creation within Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire, an initiative limited to up to two bespoke vehicles per year. Each project involves complete reinterpretation of the body and interior, resulting in one-of-a-kind automotive masterpieces that celebrate Bugatti’s heritage while pushing technical and artistic boundaries.
